14 Years…

June 2, 2010

My feet haven’t grown in 14 years so over the time I’ve collected a lot of shoes. When I moved from Seattle to San Francisco I went from about 45 pairs to about 20. Now, I have to go down to about 10 pairs… but how do I choose?! Yes, this is my biggest dilemma right now. I prefer to stay in complete denial that I am moving across the country, however, the situation brings me right back to reality.

Luckily, I love pointless dating TV shows. Blind Date, ElimiDATE, Next! Why? Because they help me in real life problems such as these. Dear navy blue pumps with red lining and white polka dots: We had a really good time that night at the concert. I was instantly attracted to you, your style, what you said. But can I take you home to meet my students? NEXT! Bronze pumps, old chuck taylors, black sling backs and pirate boots… This is a really hard decision. You all have such great qualities it’s hard to choose. Sadly I can just choose one… For my next adventure I’d like to choose….. BLACK SLING BACKS! And Fluevog, I’ve never actually worn you, so I’m not sure why were were set up, but it’s just not going to work.

So while I live in denial for just 10 more days, I’m going to apply these life lessons to other areas in my life. Scarves, old CDs, jackets. I think I’ve finally found a good way to scale down…
